ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
In
the Republic of Guinea, we are supporting a woman-owned
proprietorship that will provide local women miners with access to a
reputable purchasing point for their product as well as mining support
services. The enterprise will support their families and use profits to
assist poverty-stricken traditional artisan miners with basic services
including medicine, clean water, and education. TAI is also engaged in
supporting development of mechanical assistance to women miners in the
Niger River which will increase safety, production and profits for the
participants.
